Amb aquesta darrera incorporaci\u00f3 a la nostra fam\u00edlia de feritos, ja s\u00f3n 42 els investigadors que han pogut iniciar els seus projectes de recerca oncol\u00f2gica traslacional gr\u00e0cies a les beques FERO. Podeu consultar tots els projectes promoguts per les beques FERO <a href=\"https:\/\/ferocancer.org\/ca\/recerca\/projectes-financats\/\">aqu\u00ed<\/a>.  <\/b><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La I Beca Extraordin\u00e0ria Dr. Baselga com a <b>novetat de la XXII edici\u00f3 de les Beques FERO<\/b><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&#8217;edici\u00f3 d&#8217;enguany compta amb la I Beca Extraordin\u00e0ria Dr. Baselga, que ret homenatge al fundador de FERO traspassat el 2021. Dotada amb 300.000 euros, es va lliurar juntament amb un trofeu, obra de l&#8217;escultor Jaume Plensa com a aportaci\u00f3 personal de l&#8217;artista a la fundaci\u00f3. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A difer\u00e8ncia de les altres beques FERO amb les quals es busca promoure el talent jove investigador, aquesta beca est\u00e0 adre\u00e7ada a investigadors amb una class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>La I Beca Extraordin\u00e0ria Dr. Baselga<\/b> ha estat lliurada al Dr. Ignacio Melero, investigador de la Cl\u00ednica Universidad de Navarra (CUN) pel seu projecte de recerca sobre el crosspriming, un important mecanisme d&#8217;activaci\u00f3 de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules immunes contra el c\u00e0ncer.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aquest mecanisme consisteix a capturar ant\u00edgens de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals mortes i redirigir-los, essent fonamental per a l&#8217;orquestraci\u00f3 de la resposta immunit\u00e0ria citot\u00f2xica contra les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cEl coneixement sobre el crosspriming no est\u00e0 prou desenvolupat, tot i que pot suposar una oportunitat important per al desenvolupament de noves estrat\u00e8gies que benefici\u00efn els pacients\u201d<\/em>, apunta el Dr. Ignacio Melero.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Projecte guanyador de la <b>XXII Beca FERO, esponsoritzada per la Fundaci\u00f3n Ram\u00f3n Areces<\/b><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El <b>Dr. Tian Tian<\/b>, del Vall d&#8217;Hebron Institut d&#8217;Oncologia (VHIO) de Barcelona, \u00e9s el guanyador d&#8217;una de les <b>XXII Beques FERO<\/b>. El seu projecte de recerca utilitza la bi\u00f2psia l\u00edquida per desxifrar les caracter\u00edstiques epigen\u00e8tiques ocultes en el plasma de pacients amb colangiocarcinoma, el segon tumor hepatobiliar m\u00e9s com\u00fa i actualment incurable. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cLa identificaci\u00f3 de biomarcadors de diagn\u00f2stic i pron\u00f2stic generalment requereix procediments de bi\u00f2psia tradicionals, que s\u00f3n invasius i dif\u00edcils de repetir durant el tractament. La bi\u00f2psia l\u00edquida, centrada en la detecci\u00f3 a partir de mostres de fluids, representa una manera de superar aquests problemes. Nosaltres proposem utilitzar aquesta bi\u00f2psia l\u00edquida per caracteritzar epigen\u00e8ticament els colangiocarcinomes. Aix\u00ed esperem comprendre si aquesta t\u00e8cnica es pot fer servir per informar de programes d&#8217;expressi\u00f3 g\u00e8nica espec\u00edfics de colangiocarcinoma i tamb\u00e9 si ens permet, despr\u00e9s de la resecci\u00f3 quir\u00fargica curativa, detectar rastres m\u00ednims de la malaltia. Mar\u00eda Casanovas<\/b>, investigadora del Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncol\u00f3gicas (CNIO), ha obtingut una de les <b>XXII Beques FERO<\/b>. El seu projecte de recerca busca entendre els mecanismes de resist\u00e8ncia a la immunoter\u00e0pia en c\u00e0ncer de pulm\u00f3 i sensibilitzar a aquest tipus de ter\u00e0pia els tumors de c\u00e0ncer de pulm\u00f3 de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules no petites que no responen als tractaments d&#8217;immunoter\u00e0pia. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cAmb l&#8217;arribada de la immunoter\u00e0pia, el tractament del c\u00e0ncer ha canviat radicalment. Ara, alguns tumors intractables es poden curar. Malauradament, no tots els pacients responen a aquests tractaments i hi ha una necessitat d&#8217;investigar per qu\u00e8 passa aix\u00f2. Nosaltres hem identificat un tipus de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules immunes que resideixen en els tumors, els macr\u00f2fags, que fomenten l&#8217;activaci\u00f3 dels fibroblasts associats al c\u00e0ncer. Malauradament, encara no s&#8217;ha abordat aquesta relaci\u00f3 entre aquests dos tipus de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules ni s&#8217;ha investigat si aquesta relaci\u00f3 entre elles fa que la immunoter\u00e0pia no sigui efica\u00e7\u201d<\/em>, explica la Dra. Casanovas. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Projecte guanyador del <b>IV Projecte FERO-ghd en C\u00e0ncer de Mama<\/b><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El <b>Dr. Jos\u00e9 Antonio Seoane<\/b>, del Vall d&#8217;Hebron Institut d&#8217;Oncologia (VHIO) de Barcelona, ha rebut el <b>IV Projecte FERO-ghd en C\u00e0ncer de Mama<\/b>. El seu projecte busca caracteritzar els perfils epigen\u00e8tics dels tumors de mama tractats amb hormones per entendre millor el mecanisme de resist\u00e8ncia a la ter\u00e0pia hormonal i millorar el tractament de les pacients que han recaigut amb una nova fam\u00edlia de f\u00e0rmacs epigen\u00e8tics que complementin la ter\u00e0pia hormonal. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cEl c\u00e0ncer de mama \u00e9s el m\u00e9s diagnosticat en dones i \u00e9s, a m\u00e9s, la principal causa de mort per c\u00e0ncer. En les darreres d\u00e8cades n&#8217;ha millorat el pron\u00f2stic, principalment a causa de l&#8217;efic\u00e0cia dels tractaments amb receptors hormonals. Tanmateix, un percentatge important d&#8217;aquestes pacients que han respost inicialment recauen despr\u00e9s de diversos anys. No se sap ben b\u00e9 per qu\u00e8 ni quin \u00e9s el mecanisme molecular involucrat en aquestes met\u00e0stasis tardanes. La nostra hip\u00f2tesi \u00e9s que existeix algun perfil epigen\u00e8tic previ al tractament que pot determinar el perfil posterior al tractament resistent enfront de l&#8217;inactiu i que podria utilitzar-se per determinar la probabilitat de recaiguda.
