Marta Alonso","centro__institucion":"CIMA, University of Navarra","proyecto":"Overcoming resistance to viral therapies in the treatment of paediatric brain tumours.","dotacion":"\u20ac300,000","dotacion_num":"300000","descripcion":"<p>Dr. Marta Alonso and her team at the University of Navarra are working on therapies for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, a lethal brain cancer in children. Using modified adenoviruses, they have managed to extend patient survival by combining the therapy with radiotherapy. However, relapses are common due to immune system suppression.
