Their strategy is based on understanding the \"Achilles' heels\" of this type of cancer present in the ecosystem that nourishes and surrounds the tumor, and predicting which patients will respond better to certain chemo- and immunotherapies. To achieve this, and thanks to the III FERO-ASEICA grant, they use cutting-edge technologies such as spatial transcriptomics and artificial intelligence, which allow them to understand the cellular program of each component of the ecosystem, determine their location in relation to the tumor, and create algorithms to predict treatment efficacy.
