This type of cancer can metastasise after long disease-free periods, causing death within a short period of time. In recent years, a possible interaction has been observed between the tumour cells that drive metastasis in this type of cancer and fibroblasts derived from MSC cells located in bone. These interactions affect the tumour and may underlie metastatic relapse and influence the disease\u2019s response to systemic therapies.
