Scientific Community

Scientific Community

The FERO Scientific Community. Over 1,000 researchers committed to translational science.

The 'Feritos' are more than just grant recipients. They are a community that shares a conviction: that translational research is the fastest path to better treatments for cancer patients.

The FERO Scientific Community is built from the first day a researcher receives a grant. It does not end when funding runs out. FERO Cancer alumni grant recipients maintain their connection with the institution, participate in the FERO Scientific Retreat, collaborate in the evaluation of new applications, and become advocates for the mission.

FERO Researchers

Over 70 grant recipients. Over 1,000 researchers in the network. A name that the Spanish scientific community recognizes as a mark of excellence.

FERO Researchers. The community transforming Spanish oncology.

Being a FERO researcher is more than just having received funding. It means belonging to a community that shares values, methodology, and commitment. A community that meets once a year at the FERO Scientific Retreat. A community that supports each other in Europe’s most competitive academic ecosystem. Researchers who have been part of FERO Cancer now hold leadership positions in the best oncology centers in Spain and worldwide. Their network of contacts, partly built through the FERO community, is one of the most valuable assets of their careers.

Scientific Network

The FERO scientific network. Connections that accelerate research.

The FERO Cancer community is not just a list of names. It is an active network of scientific collaboration that crosses institutions, specialties, and generations.

Translational oncology research advances faster when researchers collaborate. The FERO scientific network connects researchers from different institutions, specialties, and career levels. It facilitates collaborations that would otherwise be difficult to establish. It amplifies the impact of each individual project.

The FERO Academy — with the annual FERO Scientific Retreat, FERO Webinars, and the alumni network — is the space where this network is built and kept alive. Continuous training, mentoring, and a scientific community for researchers who share the conviction that translational science can beat cancer.

Researcher Profiles

FERO Researchers. Science with a name.

Every FERO researcher has a story. A project that changed the course of their career. A result that reached patients. Here are their profiles.

Translational research is not done by institutions. It is done by people. FERO researchers are the most direct proof of the impact of well-directed scientific funding.
