Active Programs
FERO Cancer active programs.
Four active units at VHIO (Barcelona), INCLIVA (Valencia), Hospital 12 de Octubre (Madrid), and Clínic Barcelona. Continuous funding. More than 4,000 patients per year benefited.
Continuing education, mentoring, and community-building program for researchers in the FERO Cancer network. Includes the annual FERO Scientific Retreat, FERO Webinars, and the alumni network.
Four grant modalities with annual calls. From the Grant for young researchers to the Dr. Baselga Grant for established researchers. More than 60 grants awarded since 2009.
Institutional Collaborations
The best centers, committed to the FERO mission.
FERO Cancer does not work with just any center. It works with the best oncology research institutes in Spain, selected for their scientific excellence, their execution capacity, and their commitment to translational research.
The collaborations with VHIO (since 2007), INCLIVA (since 2019), Hospital 12 de Octubre (since 2022), and Clínic Barcelona (since 2024) are the result of a rigorous evaluation process and a mutual commitment to excellence and transparency.
Each institutional alliance includes an agreement on objectives, periodic scientific monitoring, and the publication of the results of funded projects.
Competitive Funding
Competitive funding. A FERO grant opens doors to many more.
Competitive funding is the fuel of scientific research. A researcher who has been selected by FERO Cancer—with the most demanding excellence criteria in the private sector in Spain—has a quality signal that evaluators in other calls recognize.
FERO Cancer does not only fund. It also positions its researchers so they can access more funding. The multiplier effect of the FERO grant goes beyond its financial endowment.
