FERO Cancer’s alliances with research centers are not sponsorship agreements. They are long-term scientific commitments. FERO Cancer evaluates projects with international criteria of excellence, funds research units, and measures results. The centers contribute the country’s best scientific teams.
VHIO — Vall d'Hebron Institute of

VHIO is one of Europe’s most renowned oncology research centers. Its work in cancer genomics, precision medicine, and the development of new therapies has placed Spain on the international scientific map.
The FERO Molecular Diagnostics Unit at VHIO has been operating since 2007. It is FERO Cancer’s longest-standing alliance and has generated the greatest cumulative impact: more than 2,200 patients annually benefit from advanced molecular diagnostics that allow for personalized treatment.
Dr. Josep Tabernero, director of VHIO and an international reference in molecular oncology, is part of FERO Cancer’s scientific advisory committee.
I+12 — Hospital 12 de Octubre ·

The i+12 Research Institute at Hospital 12 de Octubre integrates clinical care activity with translational research. Its position as a benchmark in lung cancer treatment and the development of new immunotherapies makes it a strategic center for FERO Cancer.
The FERO Molecular Diagnostics Unit at Hospital 12 de Octubre works on resistance and response to ADC therapies — antibody-drug conjugates —, one of the most active frontiers in current oncology. In 2023, 46 patients participated in the unit’s research protocols.
Dr. Luís Paz-Ares, head of the Medical Oncology Department at Hospital 12 de Octubre and an international reference in lung cancer, is part of FERO Cancer’s scientific advisory committee.
INCLIVA — Hospital Clínico de

INCLIVA focuses its research activity on digestive oncology, with a special focus on colorectal and gastric cancer. Its team has developed some of Spain’s most relevant clinical series in the development of new therapies for digestive system tumors.
The FERO Molecular Diagnostics Unit at INCLIVA works on targeted therapies. In its first seven years of activity, more than 3,000 patients have gone through the program. 500 of them have accessed targeted therapies that would not have been available to them without the unit.
Dr. Andrés Cervantes, head of the Medical Oncology Department at Hospital Clínico de Valencia and a European reference in digestive oncology, is part of FERO Cancer’s scientific advisory committee.
Clínic Barcelona Comprehensive

Clínic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Center integrates research, teaching, and clinical care in oncology with international reference standards. Its gynecological oncology program — ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancer — is one of Spain’s most active in clinical trials and the incorporation of new therapies.
The FERO Molecular Diagnostics Unit at Clínic Barcelona works on gynecological translational research, using liquid biopsy, Big Data, and artificial intelligence to personalize treatments. In 2024, 300 patients have benefited from the unit’s protocols.
Dr. Aleix Prat, head of the Medical Oncology Department at Clínic Barcelona and an international reference in breast cancer and precision medicine, is part of FERO Cancer’s scientific advisory committee.
