25 years in numbers

The impact of research, measured in real patients.

25 years of translational funding produce concrete results: patients accessing more precise diagnoses and more effective treatments, and researchers driving Spanish oncology forward. Here is the proof.

More than 30 million euros invested in translational science.

Every euro donated to FERO Cancer reaches research. This is guaranteed by our cost structure, our annual audit, and the "Dona con Confianza" seal from the Fundación Lealtad.

In 25 years of activity, FERO Cancer has invested more than 30 million euros in translational oncology research. This figure includes funding for the FERO Molecular Diagnosis Units in the four partner centers, grants for young researchers, and support for specific high-impact projects.

Investment is distributed among centers based on the translational potential of projects evaluated by FERO Cancer’s independent scientific committee. There are no political or geographical criteria. Only scientific criteria.

FERO Cancer annually publishes its activity report and audited accounts. Transparency in the use of funds is a non-negotiable principle.

Funded projects

Projects that produce science. Science that produces treatments.

The portfolio of projects funded by FERO Cancer over 25 years covers more than 15 types of tumors and four reference centers. Every completed project is one step closer to better treatments.

Since 2001, FERO Cancer has funded translational research projects in Spain’s leading oncology centers. Currently active projects include four Molecular Diagnosis Units, the Dr. Baselga FERO Grant, and specific projects in lines with the highest clinical potential.

Every project funded by FERO Cancer generates results published in leading international scientific journals. The scientific traceability of the investment is part of our commitment to donors.

Patients benefited

4,000 patients per year. More precise diagnoses. More effective treatments.

The impact of the translational research funded by FERO Cancer is measured in real patients who access diagnostics and treatments that would otherwise not be available to them.

The FERO Molecular Diagnosis Units in the four partner centers treat thousands of patients every year. These are not patients in experimental trials. They are patients accessing molecular diagnostics that allow for personalized treatment, increasing effectiveness and reducing side effects.
