Although immunotherapy has substantially improved survival for many cancer patients, it is still not 100% effective, and many patients do not respond to the treatment. Dr. Francisco Martínez-Jiménez’s project, supported by funding from the XXIV FERO Grant, will utilize computational analysis techniques to discover genetic biomarkers to identify patients for whom immunotherapy is not effective at an early stage, thereby improving their quality of life and life expectancy.
