On October 22, the roundtable “Together, Beyond Breast Cancer” took place at CASA ISDIN (Barcelona), an event promoted by ISDIN Woman with the goal of highlighting the importance of support, prevention, and comprehensive well-being at every stage of the disease.

A Multifaceted Perspective on Breast Cancer

The discussion brought together different perspectives on the disease:

  • Steffi Mallebrein, writer and breast cancer survivor.
  • Susanna Diracano, specialist in exercise and comprehensive well-being.
  • Adriana Alcaraz, oncology nutritionist.
  • Sandra Miranda, Fundraising Director at FERO Foundation.
  • Èlia Navarro, ISDIN Woman Product Manager.

Throughout the conversation, the speakers shared

complementary perspectives

on how to approach cancer from a holistic perspective: the value of research, mindful nutrition, adapted exercise, self-esteem, and above all,

the support network that embraces the patient

.

Science, Body, and Emotional Care: The Pillars of Real Support

Steffi Mallebrein

offered an inspiring testimony about the strength that comes from sharing vulnerability, while Sandra Miranda emphasized the role of oncology research as a driver of hope and future, and how the voice and involvement of patients also make a difference in the resources we can allocate to further research. For her part, Adriana Alcaraz highlighted that, beyond social media trending topics, a plant-based diet is essential at every stage of life. She further emphasized that nutrition must be adapted to the patient, not the other way around, focusing on personalization and professional support.

Susanna Diracano

from her specialty in movement and well-being, stressed the importance of muscle tissue as foundation and support for the body throughout the entire cancer process. She reminded us that listening to one’s own body and maintaining adapted physical activity are key to improving both recovery and quality of life.

Finally, Èlia Navarro closed the session by reaffirming ISDIN Woman‘s commitment to women’s well-being and comprehensive support for women at every stage of their lives, as well as their commitment to cancer research, as demonstrated by the 8-year ISDIN-FERO alliance to support the advancement of liquid biopsy in breast cancer.

A Final Message: Together, Always

The event left a clear message: facing breast cancer is a journey best traveled together, through science, empathy, and collaboration among professionals, patients, and committed organizations. If you would like to learn more, you can click here.
