Books that support cancer research
You may already have your list of favourite books, or perhaps you had not even remembered that this day was coming. You may also be one of those who keep looking until they find a good story to treat themselves to. Whatever your case, at the FERO Foundation we would like to invite you to choose a book this Sant Jordi with your heart and with a greater purpose. Here are 3 ideas that tell stories of life, resilience, and hope, while also helping to raise funds to support cancer research.

“I Want to Live”, by Cecília Bofarull
This book recounts, with moving sincerity, Cecília’s experience of living with metastatic breast cancer.
Across 112 pages illustrated with watercolour and text, this work offers an intimate view of the author’s everyday experiences. Each page becomes a mirror of her thoughts and emotions, weaving an optimistic narrative grounded in reality.
It is a moving testimony that reminds us that, in the face of adversity, attitude is key.

“IN YOUR BOSOM, More Than Pink”, a comic by POSTALKIDS
“IN YOUR BOSOM, More Than Pink” is a comic created by POSTALKIDS that presents twelve captivating stories related to cancer. Its stories weave together humour, resilience, grief, sport, and the importance of family. A story of awareness and empathy that highlights the need for research to cure cancer.
“From Darkness to Light”, by Montserrat Loba
Montserrat Loba, a cancer survivor, shares her moving story in the book “From Darkness to Light”. A story that begins in 2017 and ends in 2022, when she finally overcomes the disease.
For the author, writing this book has been a personal therapeutic tool, and through it she seeks to offer support to those who may find comfort in its pages.
With honest and moving stories of resilience, told in the first person from direct experience with the disease, “From Darkness to Light” promises to inspire and comfort everyone who reads it.
It is available in both Spanish and Catalan on the “Rúbrica Editorial” website. In addition, part of the proceeds from its sale will be donated to FERO to continue supporting cancer research.
